Strawberry Donuts

Strawberry Donuts
1 Cup Flour
1/3 Cup Sugar
1 tsp Baking Powder
¼ tsp Cinnamon
½ tsp Salt
1/3 Cup Milk
1 Egg
1 Tbsp Melted Butter
1 Tbsp Maple Syrup
¼ cup Strawberry Jam

Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon and salt. Mix together wet ingredients; milk, egg, melted butter, maple syrup and jam. Combine wet and dry ingredients.  Next, spoon donut batter into a gallon size zipper bag. Be sure to spray your mini donut pan very well so the donuts do not stick. Snip the corner of the bag to allow for piping the batter into the mini donut pan.  Be careful not to overfill, I usually circle each donut well twice. Bake at 425 for 7-9 minutes.  When the donuts have cooled a bit remove them from the pan and let them continue to cool on a wire rack.

Strawberry Glaze
1 ½ Cups Powdered Sugar
3 Tbsp Strawberry Jam
Pinch of Salt
¼ Cup Milk

Combine all ingredients. Once the  donuts have cooled dip the top of the donuts into the glaze. Allow the glaze to set and then dip a second time. Return the donuts to the wire cooling rack and allow the glaze to set completely.
This recipe can be made with any flavor of Jams by Jen. Blueberry Lemon, Cinnamon Berry, and, in the Fall, Pumpkin Pie make great flavor variations.

My little donut lover.
